Easter

Easter morning we went to church and afterwards I took a picture of Tessa in front of the cross.  Tessa already had a pretty good grasp of the meaning of Easter, that Jesus died for our sins, rose from the grave and later ascended into Heaven.  But, since Nanny had passed away just days ago, there had been a lot of talk about dying in our house.  Kids are amazing the way they process death and dying, they are so much better at it than adults.  So when it came time to talk about Jesus dying I think Tessa really had more context.
After church we went to my parent's house.  My mom's yard is always so pretty and green.  Tessa hunted Easter eggs and opened her basket.

Caring for Nanny combined with the shock of how quickly she passed meant that neither my mom nor I had had a chance to make any plans for Easter.  So we decided to go out to eat.  We had a lovely lunch at Nantucket Grill and then played in the downtown courtyard.  Tessa started a game of Duck, Duck, Goose and we ran around laughing hysterically.  Happy Easter!
