Granny Paula's Visit

We were excited to have Ryan's mom visit us for a long week-end. Even though the weather was cold and rainy, we were entertained by Tessa. She loves to sing and dance and says "AGAIN" at the end of each song. Our current favorite is the Chicken Dance. When she flaps her little wings and wiggles her rear end it is just too cute!

We ventured out to the mall on Sunday and I even let Tessa play in the children's area. It was very crowded with big kids running everywhere but she had a ball. After going down the slide about a hundred times, we called it a day.

Tessa is cutting two more teeth and soothes herself by chewing on raw carrots or her pacifier. She has learned how to say "Binky" and uses her new word often.

Thanks Granny Paula for coming to visit us! We'll see both you and Grandpa Frank this summer.

Visiting the Kosmickis

Tessa and I had a wonderful visit to "Aunt Claire's" house in Idaho. Tessa was great to fly with, even though we had two connections and two time zone changes each way. She's such a trooper! If only I could get her to sleep better in new places she would be a perfect traveler.

I can't get over how quickly all the kids are growing and maturing! Grace is beautiful and precocious as ever. Tessa adores her and would hold up her arms for Grace to carry her. Will is such a lover, he would chase Tessa around to hug her. She wasn't always in the mood and we laughed watching her fend him off. Grant is a super sweet baby. Tessa was fascinated with the baby and he was very tolerant of her. The Kosmicki boys are going to be heartbreakers someday!

It's amazing to think back to when Claire and I met. We were just two teenage kids with practically no resposibilities. Now we are wives and mothers with lots of responsibilities. But it's still hard to think of us as adults. I'm grateful we've stayed so close and love that our kids get along too!

Snow in the South

Last night we had an amazing thunder snow shower and this morning everything looks like a winter wonderland. Tessa and I were supposed to travel today but most flights are cancelled.
So we played in the snow this morning and will try our luck at the airport tomorrow.
Anabelle was in doggy heaven running around in the snow and sliding on the ice. Tessa and I laughed and laughed watching Anabelle play.
This was Tessa's first big snow and she was fascinated by it. I bet she would love to sled down our hill, we may try that when Daddy gets home. Poor Daddy had to go to work. We really could have used his help making a snowman, my attempt was pitiful!

Happy Birthday Ryan!

Being a leap year baby, Ryan doesn't have an official birthday this year. So, we celebrated the entire week-end with family, friends and good food. You're still adorable. Happy 8.25 Birthday!

Saturday in the Park

We decided to take advantage of the beautiful week-end and head to the park. Tessa gets a big kick out of the swings, the higher the better. She also went down the slide for the very first time, rode the bouncy rides and explored the train section.

Don't worry, Tessa was not harmed in the making of any of these videos. She's a tough little thing, she took a couple of tumbles without any tears. After each trip down the slide she would smile and say "again!" How adorable.

Tessa at 18 months

This week Tessa passed the half year mark so she is now 18 months old. She got two shots and a great report from the pediatrician. He's tickled by how flirty she is. Hhhmmm, wonder where she learned that?!?!

She's smack in the middle of the growth curve for both height and weight and has hit all the developmental milestones for her age. My little angel threw one of her breath holding hissy fits when he examined her ears. Totally normal and her doctor even complimented me on handling it well by ingnoring her. Five seconds later she was all smiles again. Ah, the joys of toddlerhood. I've moved her cradle and dolls into her new playroom. She loves her dolls and is so cute sitting in the cradle with them. In these pictures she is signing cat, pointing to her head and just being sweet.

Congratulations to Ryan! With the new year came a new job title for Ryan. He has transferred to the research and development center and is now a Special Projects Engineer. After several months of intensive training, he will work on Original Equipment (OE) projects.

He is very excited about the work itself and is also quite impressed with the caliber of his new co-workers. This job will definitely be a challenge, one that he is certainly ready for. His reputation precedes him and people have made a point to welcome him to the group.

One of perks of the new job was a working trip to the Detroit Auto Show. Even though things were scaled back this year, he said it was an awesome show. Ryan saw some of his favorite cars - Corvettes, Maseratis and in this picture he is sitting in a Tesla.

Keep up the good work Daddy!
